Vice President of Science and Customer Innovation

Calvin Lee serves as vice president of science and customer innovation for TrueDemand Software. He has more than 25 years of logistics and supply chain management experience in the transportation, wholesale distribution, and retail industries. Prior to joining TrueDemand, Dr. Lee was vice president and chief scientist for Evant Inc. (now part of Manhattan Associates), a leading provider of planning, replenishment, and enterprise data management software. At Evant, he played an integral role in developing breakthrough commercial implementations of multi-echelon inventory management, advanced demand cleansing and seasonal profiling, slow mover management, and constrained capacity ordering. Before Evant, Dr. Lee was director of merchandising logistics at Webvan, an online retailer. At Webvan, he enhanced the replenishment process with unique algorithms and built customized buying tools to reduce inventory levels while maintaining high product availability in the webstore. For many years, Dr. Lee was vice president of operations research at McKesson Corporation and made major contributions to inventory management and distribution network redesign initiatives. At Southern Pacific (now part of Union Pacific) he managed the analytic services team and oversaw its operations research and decision support activities. Currently, he is on the adjunct faculty of several San Francisco Bay Area universities. Dr. Lee obtained his B.A. (Summa Cum Laude) in Mathematics from San Francisco State University, and his M.A. in Mathematics, and Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley.
