Atul Kapadia

Atul joined Bay Partners in 2004. Prior to Bay, Atul spent four years as one of the two Managing Directors of Raza Foundries Inc., a holding company that invested in semiconductor and system companies. He led Raza’s investment in Auroranetics (acquired by Cisco Systems in 2001), Afara Web Systems (acquired by Sun Microsystems in 2002) and Tropic Networks (privately-held). He also spent a year as the turn-around CEO of Maple Optical Systems. Prior to Raza, Atul worked for ITV/Infinity Capital, where he assisted in the investment in Amber Networks (acquired by Nokia in 2001) and LightLogic (acquired by Intel).
Atul started his career as a design engineer on the UltraSparc microprocessor at Sun Microsystems. Subsequently, he served in product marketing and sales roles at Cadence and Synopsys, where his customers included Intel, Adaptec, Motorola, Level One and PMC-Sierra. He also co-founded InChip (acquired by Virage Logic in 2002), a gate-array IP company. Atul has a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Wisconsin, Madison and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from University of Bombay. Atul received his M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.
